The staff is polite and always ready for guest´s needs. Is only 4 blocks from tube station which was important to me, and the shops on Roman Road have a wide variety for costumers.
I would appreciate wifi connection in rooms not only in public areas.

The staff were friendly. The price was very good for London. The whole place was very clean. No queues to get to the bathroom.
The room at the front was very small and VERY noisy. However, I managed to talk them into moving me to a twin room at the back, which was nice and quiet.

There are clean, proper rooms and there is a sort of breakfast in the morning. It's just a good hotel if you want something really cheap.
The personnell, although generally friendly, could try to be a little more of service. They're sometimes not listening to their clients enough and could use a lesson in hospitality.

Room was ok, clean and comfortable. Sky tv was an added bonus. It was really hot though!
Bathroom was dirty and shower didn't really work.

Friendly staff, clean and tidy room/facilities.
Bit of a walk to tube station, but lots of buses, so not so bad.

24 hour reception. Very flexible staff. Clean hotel, basic but satisfactory facilities.Would stay again.Location is perfect.
Diy breakfast was a joke. They had one frying pan and a tray of eggs. On the plus side as much apple and orange juice as you wanted all day!

V good cust service, excellent location for the festival I was attending
Price of room vastly inflated due to festival, will not pay it again despite positives. Carpet in room 15 filthy in patches. More toilet/wash facilities needed.

Internet went down the first night there, but staff was very friendly and allowed me to use phone to use my calling card. Breakfast included was nice. You have to make your own eggs, which is not that big a deal.
Keep in mind you get what you pay for. This is economy hotel(like a hostel but you have your own room)

I can't say there was anything I like about staying at this hotel!
The staff speak little english, shared bathroom are dirty. Bedrooms were still dirty including bedsheets and side tables, door handle was about to fall of, the shared kitchen was dirty and no space to sit an eat, there's two tables and the hotel staff will be on one, and leave you two seats, the luggage man demands 1 pound of you and will not leave your room untill you tip him! The hole place is horrible. Felt unwelcome and awkward every time you walk through the reception! Your above a kebab and Chinese so your room stinks of food and you can here the air vent all night! I would not recommend at all! Its not a hotel its a hostel!!

Sandwiched between a kebab shop and the chineese takeaway in a rough part of London is the Old Friend Hotel. A memeber of staff volunteered to carry my suitcase and then demanded a £1 tip! The room was tiny and noisy, the bathroom was shared and dirty. There was an additional charge for paying with a credit card, the WiFi doesn't work. Look out for the disclaimer regarding not leaving anything valuable in the room. I had to wait 20 minutes to get in the bathroom in the morning and I was too early for breakfast that starts at 8am. All for £65! I'm sticking with Travelodge where at least there you don't have to watch your back!

There is very little to like about Old Friend Hotel.
Old Friend Hotel is not actually a hotel, but a hostel. It is small, dirty, hot, unfriendly and unsafe. The main door to the hotel is sandwiched between shop fronts and is not secure - although there is a buzzer entry system, the door could be opened with a light push. The first room we were given had dirty sheets and stained walls. The double bed was actually two single beds pushed together and the door handle, which contained the lock, fell off the door. The room we were moved to had a double bed and a secure door handle, but was still dirty and the fan didn't work. Both rooms were very small and had poor ventilation, with no ac and windows that didn't fully open. The hostel seems to be located above a Chinese takeaway kitchen and as a result is uncomfortably hot at all times. This made sleeping very difficult. Staff were mostly indifferent and at times plain rude. Wireless internet access is only available in and around the reception desk, and not in the rooms.
